WATER TRANSMISSION GROUP:
Ameron is a leader in pipe technology and a principal supplier of highly-engineered concrete and steel pipe systems in the western United States. With the recent acquisition of a Mexican-based manufacturing facility, Ameron's North American sales territory has expanded into Mexico. American Pipe & Construction International (APCI), a wholly-owned subsidiary is a principal supplier of concrete and steel pipe products in Central and South America; Ameron Saudi Arabia, Ltd. is a 30-percent-owned affiliate that manufactures concrete pipe in Saudi Arabia and through a joint venture in Egypt.
Designed to satisfy the widest range of performance requirements, Ameron's concrete and steel pipe products provide long-term water and wastewater conveyance. Typical projects include high-pressure and gravity water transmission and distribution lines, inverted aqueduct siphons, sewer force mains, power plant cooling water systems, sewer outfalls, storm drains, culverts, tunnel liners, and penstocks for hydroelectric generating plants. Ameron also specializes in steel fabrication for the energy and transportation markets with products such as pilings and wind towers. Ameron features five distinct product lines. Heavy-wall, large-diameter steel pipe and concrete pressure pipe handle high-pressure and medium-pressure applications. Reinforced concrete pipe products address low-pressure and gravity-flow needs. Ameron’s Bondstrand® Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer Mortar Pipe (RPMP) fulfills corrosive, gravity and pressure applications in the water and wastewater markets. Ameron manufactures wind towers in diameters as large as 18 feet.
Finally, Ameron manufactures and markets T-Lock® and Arrow-Lock®, polyvinyl chloride sheet linings that have been protecting concrete pipe and cast-in-place concrete structures worldwide from the corrosive effects of sewer gases, acids and industrial chemicals for more than 60 years. Proven T-Lock® technology is also used in the T-Hab® system for rehabilitating large-diameter sewers without excavating city streets. Arrow-Lock® is used as a long-life alternative for the rehabilitation of wastewater structures and manholes.
FIBERGLASS-COMPOSITE PIPE GROUP:
Ameron manufactures and markets the world's most
comprehensive line of fiberglass-composite pipe and fittings, under trademarks such as
Bondstrand®, Dualoy®, PSX®, Centron®, SSLT and LCXLT, for applications in the chemical
processing, power generation, industrial, oilfield, fuel handling, offshore and marine
market segments. Ameron fiberglass pipe is a cost-effective alternative to corrosionprone
metallic piping and non-reinforced thermoplastics. Ameron fiberglass pipe is
particularly well suited for industrial applications and chemical processing because of
its corrosion resistant properties and ability to withstand higher temperatures and pressures
than thermoplastic materials. Ameron fiberglass pipe with an integral abrasion resistant
liner is also gaining acceptance in coal-fired power plants, and Ameron's composite
pipe is being commercialized into the municipal water and sewer market.
The use of fiberglass piping for secondary containment and waste-handling applications
continues to grow in response to increasingly stringent regulation of groundwater
contamination caused by corroded metallic piping. In response to this environmental risk
Ameron provides gasoline service-station operators with the latest technology, such as
Bondstrand LCX®, a coaxial, double-wall fiberglass pipe and monitoring system for fuelhandling
applications. Ameron also has a similar designed coaxial product available for
use in corrosive chemical and industrial waste applications.
Ameron also serves the offshore segment with a wide range of lightweight, corrosionresistant
piping products, including Bondstrand PSX® fire-resistant piping, for oil production
platforms and FPSO's (Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels).
Bondstrand® corrosion-resistant piping is also used to combat highly-aggressive environments
in the marine segment as ballast piping, with expanding scope into engine rooms and
for exhaust fume scrubbers. Ameron's Bondstrand LD/RPMP (Large Diameter/
Reinforced Polymer Mortar Pipe) vinylester and polyester resin pipe
provides corrosion-resistance to solve operating problems in markets
such as chemical processing, power generation and municipal water
and wastewater.
Centron International, Inc. ("Centron"), a wholly-owned subsidiary,
serves the worldwide oilfield market with small-diameter, high-pressure
fiberglass-reinforced epoxy pipe for applications such as downhole tubing
and casing, crude oil flow lines, water injection lines and secondary
recovery systems.
Ameron's proprietary Bondstrand Steel-Strip-Laminate pipe (SSL®) combines
the proven corrosion resistance of fiberglass with the strength of steel. With
these features, SSL®, pipe provides a superior solution compared to metallic
alternatives for high-pressure, highly-corrosive oilfield applications.
INFRASTRUCTURE PRODUCTS GROUP:
Ameron's Infrastructure Products Group consists of
two domestic divisions.
The Ameron Hawaii Division manufactures and markets crushed basalt aggregates,
ready-mix concrete, concrete pipe, box culverts and utility manholes. Ameron is a leading
supplier of these products along with dune sand, cultured stone veneer, and fiberglass
rebar. Production facilities are located on Oahu and Maui with sales directly to contractors
in the residential, commercial, governmental, industrial, and military construction markets.
Oahu-based facilities include the Kapaa quarry where basalt aggregates are mined,
crushed, and sized, a concrete precast plant, and four ready-mix concrete batch plants.
Maui-based facilities include a quarry and three ready-mix concrete batch plants.
Ameron's Pole Products Division produces and supplies spun-cast concrete streetlighting
poles and bollards along with steel traffic and lighting poles to customers throughout
the United States. The Division operates manufacturing facilities in California,
Washington, Oklahoma and Alabama.
The Pole Products Division is the largest manufacturer of decorative, spun-cast, prestressed
concrete streetlighting poles. Ameron offers a variety of traditional and contemporary
styles in an assortment of shapes, colors, textures and finishes. Ameron's innovative pole
designs are a durable, attractive choice for residential and commercial developments,
parks and city streetscapes. Ameron's spun-cast concrete poles offer longevity, low
maintenance and durability.
The highway segment of the steel pole traffic and streetlighting business is primarily
a specification market where performance standards are established by public and
government organizations. Products are distributed through municipal and state agencies
along with electrical distributor channels
JOINT VENTURES:
Ameron's principal joint-venture
